ED ASNER (Gluckman) is best known for his award-winning portrayal of journalist Lou Grant from the smash television series "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." Asner won three Emmys for this role, and two more Emmys for the same character on the dramatic series "Lou Grant." For "Rich Man, Poor Man" and "Roots," Asner also garnered Emmys, and he has received five Golden Globe Awards. Asner has recently been seen on the ABC series "Thunder Alley." Other recent projects include the Showtime film "Heads" and the CBS miniseries "Gone in the Night," among many other television credits. His voice can be heard on the Turner series "Captain Planet" as well as the animated series "Batman," "Spiderman," and "Gargoyles."
